Court Bottoms is an athletic wear line that believes women deserve environmentally friendly options when it comes to their activewear attire.  Our brand is built on three pillars that guide every decision we make:

- Designing figure flattering tennis apparel for women

- Using materials that minimize fashion’s negative impacts on the planet

- Cultivating a community of #AthletesGoingGreen

The Court Bottoms journey began when Rachel Karioki, our founder and CEO, was studying fashion design in New York City. Her courses taught her to sketch, sew and merchandise her designs, but it wasn't until she was exposed to the environmental and human rights impacts of fashion that the foundation of Court Bottoms was established.

In her own life, Rachel shifted her shopping habits after learning how consumers can influence the behavior of brands. She started to research the designers she bought from, read the "made of" labels before making clothing purchases and turned away from fast fashion choosing to instead invest in higher quality items that would last longer. Where this approach became more difficult was her activewear. As an avid tennis player, Rachel was in search of athletic skirts that looked great, would last several seasons and were manufactured in alignment with her values. She looked for days which quickly turned into months. After listening to her agonize over the lack of sustainable activewear options, a friend finally said, "Why don't you design it?" With that, Court Bottoms began its mission of designing fashionable, eco-friendly athletic skirts that help women feel confident on the court.
